These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the LineupAPI service, including all APIs, documentation, dashboards, downloads, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By creating an account, purchasing a plan, receiving an API key, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Provider and Contact
Contracting party/provider information can be found in our Impressum.
Support & legal contacts:
- Support (billing/technical): support@lineupapi.com
- Legal/Impressum: impressum@lineupapi.com
2. Definitions
- "LineupAPI", "we", "us" means the provider named above.
- "You" or "User" means the individual or legal entity using the Service.
- "API" means our endpoints that deliver predictions, metadata, and related responses.
- "API Key" means the personal key used to authenticate requests.
- "Credits" means usage units consumed by API calls, as described in your plan and/or dashboard.
- "Content" means all data, predictions, outputs, documentation, examples, and materials made available through the Service.
3. Eligibility and Authority
You represent that:
- you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms; and
- if you are acting for a company or other entity, you have authority to bind that entity.
4. License and Permitted Use
Subject to your compliance with these Terms and timely payment of any applicable fees, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service for your internal purposes and for integration into your own products.
You may use the API outputs in websites, applications, dashboards, internal tools, newsletters, research, and similar projects, provided you comply with the restrictions below.
5. API Keys and Security
You must keep your API key confidential and take reasonable steps to prevent misuse.
- Do not publish your API key in public repositories, client-side code, forums, screenshots, or tutorials.
- If you suspect compromise or abuse, notify us promptly and rotate/revoke the key where possible.
- You are responsible for all usage performed with your API key until it is revoked or rotated.
- We may rotate, invalidate, or reissue API keys where necessary for security, maintenance, or abuse prevention.
6. Credits, Plans, Billing, and Usage Cost
Your plan determines limits, available endpoints, features, and credit rules.
- Each request may consume Credits. We may return usage headers such as:
x-credits-costx-credits-usedx-credits-remaining
- Credit cost may depend on request parameters (for example, the number of unique prediction groups requested).
- We may change plans, limits, and pricing. Where reasonably possible, we will provide notice for material changes.
Payments: To the extent permitted by law, payments are non-refundable once a billing period has started, except where mandatory law requires otherwise. (See Section 12.)
7. Service Description and Changes
The Service provides probabilistic forecasts for football (soccer) player lineups and stat outcomes (such as minutes, goals, assists, cards), along with related fixture data, snapshots, performance monitoring, and metadata.
Predictions are forecasts, not certainties.
We may modify, improve, add, or remove endpoints, leagues, markets, metrics, fields, or features. We may also change response structure or documentation to maintain quality, performance, and safety.
8. Restrictions (No Resale / No Competing Data Service)
You may not use the Service or its outputs to create, market, or offer a product or service whose primary purpose is to provide substantially the same functionality or user experience as LineupAPI.
In particular, you may not:
- resell, repackage, or redistribute our outputs as a standalone data product;
- provide a developer-facing API, data feed, or download service that primarily contains our data or derived predictions;
- wrap LineupAPI and present it as your own "prediction API" or drop-in replacement; or
- position your product as making LineupAPI redundant.
If we reasonably determine your use competes with or replicates the core experience of our Service, we may suspend or terminate access. You may contact us to discuss a separate commercial license or partnership.
9. Caching and Storage
To improve performance, you may temporarily cache API responses requested by your users, subject to these rules:
- Temporary cache: up to 1 hour per data item, after which you must refresh via a new API call or delete the cached data.
- Long-term storage: storing historical responses for internal analysis, research, debugging, or backtesting is permitted, provided you do not redistribute them as a competing data feed or product (see Section 8).
10. Attribution, Branding, and Public References
You may not imply endorsement or official affiliation with LineupAPI without our written permission.
You may not use our name, logo, or brand elements in marketing materials without prior written consent, except for factual statements such as “Powered by LineupAPI” or “Data from LineupAPI” that do not imply endorsement.
If we invite you to a free, trial, academic, or custom plan, we may require a backlink and/or logo placement as a condition.
We may, for marketing purposes, list you as a customer or user (e.g., company name or logo).
If you prefer not to be referenced, notify us at support@lineupapi.com and we will make reasonable efforts to remove such references going forward.
11. Acceptable Use and Abuse
You agree not to:
- attempt to bypass rate limits, credit controls, authentication, or security measures;
- use the Service in a way that disrupts or degrades the Service for others;
- scrape, probe, or reverse engineer the Service in a manner intended to replicate it;
- use the Service for unlawful purposes or in violation of applicable regulations.
We may suspend or terminate access immediately in cases of abuse, security risk, legal compliance, or non-payment.
12. Cancellation, Auto-Renewal, and Refunds
Unless otherwise stated on the checkout page or in your dashboard, subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each billing period until cancelled.
You may cancel your plan at any time through the dashboard (if available) or by contacting support.
- Unless required by mandatory law, fees are non-refundable and your plan remains active until the end of the current billing period.
- If you believe you were billed incorrectly, contact us at support@lineupapi.com. Refunds, if any, are at our discretion and subject to applicable law.
13. Intellectual Property
We and our licensors retain all rights, title, and interest in the Service and Content, including all intellectual property rights.
You retain rights in your own applications and content. You do not acquire any rights to our Service except as expressly granted in these Terms.
14. Disclaimers (Predictions Are Probabilistic)
The Service and all Content are provided "as is", "as available", and "with all faults".
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, reliability, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Predictions are probabilistic forecasts and may be wrong, incomplete, delayed, or unavailable.
15. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business interruption.
- We are not responsible for losses arising from decisions made based on the Service outputs, including betting, trading, fantasy sports, gaming, or operational/business decisions.
If liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to typical, foreseeable damages and, where applicable, to the amounts paid by you for the Service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability for intent (Vorsatz), gross negligence (grobe Fahrlässigkeit), injury to life/body/health, or mandatory statutory liability.
16. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless us (and our affiliates, contractors, and representatives) from claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:
- your use or misuse of the Service;
- your violation of these Terms; or
- your products, services, or content that integrate or rely on the Service.
17. Termination
These Terms remain effective while you use the Service.
We may suspend or terminate your access (and revoke API keys) immediately if:
- you violate these Terms;
- you fail to pay amounts due;
- we must do so for security, abuse prevention, or legal compliance.
On termination, your license ends and you must stop using the Service. Sections that by their nature should survive (e.g., IP, disclaimers, liability, governing law) will survive.
18. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Updated Terms will be posted on our website and become effective upon posting or on a later date specified.
Continued use of the Service after changes become effective means you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree, stop using the Service and cancel your plan.
19. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
Unless required by mandatory law, these Terms are governed by the laws of Germany, excluding conflict of law principles.
To the extent legally permissible, the courts at our place of business shall have jurisdiction.
20. Privacy
Processing of personal data (if any) is described in our Privacy Policy.
